In with the new, keep the old around, too. We still need him.

Merry late Christmas, everybody!

This holiday season, I made out pretty damn well. I got an Elgato, an Alvarez acoustic, and a PS4. The PS4 I wasn't expecting, but I'm glad I got it. I'm really enjoying it so far and I hope people who got an Xbox One or Wii U are happy with the next-gen consoles as well. Anyhow, if you didn't know, I have a personal/gaming channel for myself that you can check out here. At the beginning of the year, I posted two Far Cry 3 videos on this channel. I wasn't too happy with them so I took them down. Now that I've obtained an Elgato, I figured "What the hell? I might as well revamp the channel and make more gameplay videos". That's what I'm doing I'll be posting on the KydTheKid channel probably more often than FallingWarTV mainly because I'm working hard on making a backlog of videos before I start posting them. That way, I can release every day or every other day.

Now on my main channel, I'm working on putting out a Bona Fide Teaser, which should be coming sometime soon. I don't know exactly when, but it'll be coming. I also plan on writing a lot before anything major comes out. This includes series, mainly. Other than that, I have a FW Short planned to test out the Elgato. It will be called "The Failsafe".

I know I shouldn't be making promises I can't keep, but I can't help myself.

Why do I do this?

Yeah, I know. November's over. No Bona Fide. I'm a fucking asshole, I get it.
Episode 7 is still in production and I've still got two more episodes to finish writing. I'm far from done, but I'm not giving up. Now, I'm not looking forward to a 2013 release, which is very disappointing to me, BUT... there is a reason for this. As you may know, the holidays are approaching us. Personally, I celebrate Christmas and plan on skipping out on next-gen consoles this year so I'm asking for a couple things. One of which is an Elgato Game Capture. This bad boy happens to capture Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 footage in full 1080p HD, which, to me, would be a fantastic way to bring back the show in the new year. To some of you, it may not be worth the wait, but I really want to step away from the Dazzle-ing quality of my current videos. I hope you got that.
Other than that, I'm asking for a new acoustic guitar. "Why are you telling us this, Jordan?" Well, me-speaking-in-the-third-person, I hope to improve on my composing skills as well. Some change in the music of Bona Fide wouldn't be too bad.

So that's it. No promises like in the past, but I do plan on finishing this. So with that, here's the thumbnail for episode 7, "Long Ways Ahead". It's the least I could do.

"Jesus Christ on the cross, you look like shit."

Jesus Christ. It's been a long time since I've updated this thing. It's like uncharted territory. I'm kind of nervous I might fuck something up. If you'd been keeping up with the blog back in February, you'd know that the whole layout and design was different from the current one. That's because the previous one, in my opinion, was clunky and just plain awkward. If you liked the old layout, too bad. This is how things are now.

So I plan on this post being a long one, mainly because of the fact that I have a lot to talk about. Just to give you a basic overview, I'll be talking about Bona Fide, Minimum Wage, The Last of Us, and the future of Falling War Shorts. Let's start out with the obvious:

BONA FIDE
Bona Fide is essentially why I created a YouTube channel. I wanted to tell this story in a way that would be somewhat easy and fun for me to do. Granted, I'd have to say the hardest part of it all is actually writing the story. I am currently in the process of writing episode 8. From there I really hope I can push through the final 4 scripts, but I have a feeling that's not happening for two reasons. A) The plot would come off as sloppy and confusing in the final product, and B) I'm not the fastest of writers, hence why it's been nearly a year and I've only gotten half of a season out. With that said, writing for Season One will most likely wrap up late this month to late next month. And yes, I plan on having an anniversary video for the show, and it will be released on September 8. Still no script for that either.

With all that out of the way, the series is going to be taking a MID-SEASON BREAK. I know what you're all thinking: "FUCK YOU, KYD! YOUR MOM IS A CUN--" Hey! Calm down, guys. Let me explain.

The next episode, "Long Ways Ahead", or episode 7, is already in production. It might not even come out until early-late October. This is because when this episode airs, every episode following it will come out on a WEEKLY BASIS. That's right! Every Saturday will be Bona Fantastic! It's gonna be hard to juggle with school, and I know I should've been doing this for the summer, but I really believe I'm capable of this. At least let's hope. Once Season One finally wraps, Bona Fide: Misfortune will air, also on a weekly basis. Five Saturdays, then the inevitable wait for Season Two.

MINIMUM WAGE
If you've been keeping up on the Falling War YouTube channel or the Bona Fide Facebook page, you'd know that a new series is in the works called Minimum Wage. At first, I announced this series as a "sitcom" in my update video. After long thinking of how I was gonna pull off the original pilot I'd written, I came up with the idea to scrap what I'd done and start with a completely new tone and concept, well.. sort of.

Minimum Wage was originally gonna be your run-in-the-mill situational comedy following a goofy group of people getting involved in fucked up situations. The series has now shifted to a darker tone, following one character who tries to find his purpose in life by volunteering for minimum wage odd jobs. It will have its comedic moments, but I'd consider Bona Fide to be more uplifting than this, and that show's plans are dark. Release date not final, but it should be out either fall or winter, which is fucking insane as it was intended to be released this summer.

THE LAST OF US
Now I know this isn't one of my "shows", but I really want to talk about Naughty Dog's The Last of Us. Right off the bat, this game is phenomenal. Best game I've played all year. Even better than Infinite, which was, in my opinion, close to impossible to beat for GotY. The only game coming out this year that I could even remotely see being better than this would be GTA V, and that's only if it's surpasses Red Dead Redemption, which is my favorite game of all time. The Last of Us comes in at my 2nd favorite of all time.

I was thinking of doing a spoiler talk for the game, but it's a lot of work to put together a review/talk  of anything. So if you have played, or watched someone play, The Last of Us, please comment below. We need to talk about it immediately!

FALLING WAR SHORTS
I have literally been trying to come up with an idea for a new Falling War Short since April. The three I have released so far have, quite frankly, not been that great. I guess "Always Motivating" poked fun at sports, which never fails to be funny, and "Office Tour" had some comedic takes, but "Motherfucker Jones" really didn't need to be done. When I was watching Horrible Bosses, I have no fucking idea where the idea of recreating that scene in Halo: Reach came from.

I really wanted to release the rest of Volume One before Bona Fide returns, but I really don't have any ideas for new, original shorts. I plan on releasing some soon, but for now, we wait.

VERDICT
Bona Fide's taking a break, Minimum Wage is darker than Michael Vick, The Last of Us is Game of the Year, and the Falling War Shorts are not so funny.

Hopefully, you got something out of this. It's kind of a lot to take in.

A little behind..

Sorry for not updating the blog recently, but I've been very busy (lazy) lately. Nothing really new going on, but if you missed episode 4 of Bona Fide, click here. Also a new FW Short has just been released. Psst. It's a parody. Always.

O Hai.

Hello, there! As you may, or may not, know, my name is KydTheKid, and this is my blog. A lot of people have been making these lately so I decided to do it myself just to fit in. It's actually pretty fucking confusing at first, but I think I'll get the hang of it within the next week, or so. That brings me to my second point. I probably won't be using this blog that often. If you want to keep up on me or Falling War in general, like the Bona Fide Facebook Page, where I update production progress regularly.

Now, if you're reading this and you don't know who I am.. why? But if you really are, I am the founder of the independent machinima company Falling War Productions.  We create the, almost popular, web series Bona Fide and the Falling War Shorts. If you've never seen any of these top-quality machinimas, click right here to watch the first episode of our series.

Welp, that's pretty much it. Hope you guys have a great Valentine's Day cause I'm definitely not going to. :)
